Carrier® Vector® units can use several different battery chargers, including older black chargers and newer silver versions. Depending on the application, the charger may be 20A or 40A, and some versions also differ according to whether an integrated monitoring sensor is required.
Selecting the correct replacement is particularly important when replacing the older black-type charger, as not all newer chargers have the correct connector for the retrofit.

Replacing the old black Carrier® battery charger
The older black Carrier® battery charger, OEM reference 30-00434-00, has been replaced by the newer silver 20A battery charger.
When replacing an old black charger, the correct retrofit option is:

Important: MPN2805A cannot be used for this retrofit
The remanufactured MPN2805A does not have the correct plug or connector required to replace the older black-type 30-00434-00 charger.
If the unit currently has the old black battery charger, use MPN2805, not MPN2805A.
New silver Carrier® battery chargers
The newer silver battery chargers are available in 20A and 40A versions.
The correct version depends on the Carrier® Vector® application and the equipment fitted to the unit. Additional equipment, such as a tail lift or liftgate, can affect which charger and monitoring arrangement is required.
40A battery chargers
There are two important 12V / 40A configurations to consider. The correct version depends on the application and whether an integrated monitoring sensor is required.
12-00683-05, Myriad MPN2811 and MPN2811A
Carrier® OEM reference 12-00683-02 has been superseded by 12-00683-05.

MPN2811 and MPN2811A have the same connectors, sensor, specifications, fitment and supplied configuration. The key difference is that MPN2811 is a new product, while MPN2811A is remanufactured. Both are supplied on a Service Exchange basis.
These 12V / 40A chargers are commonly used on Carrier® Vector® applications including:
- Vector® 1550
- Vector® 1850
- Vector® 1950
Both include the required integrated monitoring sensor.
12-00683-20, without sensor
Carrier® OEM reference 12-00683-20 is another 12V / 40A battery charger configuration, but unlike 12-00683-05, it is supplied without the integrated monitoring sensor.
This version is generally used on specific configurations where battery monitoring is handled separately, including applications fitted with a tail lift or liftgate.
Myriad does not currently have an MPN equivalent for 12-00683-20. The OEM reference is included in this guide to help with charger identification and to distinguish it from the sensor-equipped 12-00683-05 version.
Because the two 40A configurations are not necessarily interchangeable, always check the existing charger reference and installation before selecting a replacement.

How to identify the correct battery charger
Before ordering a replacement charger, check the following:
- Is the existing charger black or silver?
If it is the older black 30-00434-00 charger, use MPN2805 as the retrofit replacement. - Does the application require a 20A or 40A charger?
Do not select a replacement based on appearance alone. - Is additional equipment fitted?
Check whether the unit has equipment such as a tail lift or liftgate, as this may affect the battery monitoring arrangement. - For a 40A application, is a monitoring sensor required?
12-00683-05 / MPN2811 includes the integrated sensor.
12-00683-20 is supplied without the sensor. - Check the OEM reference on the existing charger.
Where possible, confirm the part number directly from the charger label before ordering.
