1. Compressor model
Start by identifying the TM model of the compressor.

3. Check the clutch and pulley type
Check the pulley type fitted to the compressor.
Next, identify the magnetic clutch configuration and pulley fitted to the compressor.
Clutch armature type
The clutch armature plate may be:
- 3E, 3-eye rubber damper
- LS, leaf spring
These can be identified visually from the front of the clutch.
Pulley type
Check the groove configuration of the pulley.

For example, 2AG identifies a two A-groove pulley, while 8PV identifies an eight-groove Poly-V pulley.

4. Check the fitting orientation
Check the manifold or hose connection arrangement at the rear of the compressor.
Valeo® TM compressor fitting configurations can include:
- No fitting / PAD
- Horizontal
- Vertical
- Vertical inverted
Horizontal, vertical and vertical inverted configurations use bolt-on fittings.
The orientation can be identified by looking at the position of the refrigerant connections on the rear of the compressor.
5. Check the body type
Identify whether the compressor has a standard or monolithic body configuration.
Standard
A standard compressor has a separate back plate with a bolt-on manifold.
The manifold or fitting arrangement can then be identified separately, for example horizontal or vertical.
Monolithic
On a monolithic compressor, the back plate forms part of the compressor and the manifold is incorporated as one assembly.
The difference can be identified by comparing the rear of the compressor with the standard and monolithic examples.
6. Check the mounting type
Finally, identify the mounting configuration of the compressor.
